Southwark Council made the London Borough of Southwark (Elephant and Castle Town Centre) Compulsory Purchase Order (No.2) 2023 on 29 December 2023. This CPO supersedes an earlier CPO, the London Borough of Southwark (Elephant and Castle Town Centre) Compulsory Purchase Order 2023 which was made on 2 February 2023. The February 2023 CPO was formally withdrawn by the Council following a 17 October 2023 resolution of its Cabinet.

The Network Rail (Old Oak Common Great Western Mainline Track Access) Order
The purpose of the Order is to secure the compulsory acquisition of rights in land, the temporary use of land and rights to undertake minor ancillary works which are required in relation to the proposed development of a temporary and permanent road rail vehicle (RRV) access point on to the Great Western Main Line (GWML) railway (Project) to enable delivery of the Old Oak Common Station, as well as further maintenance of the railway.
The Inquiry opened on 14th November 2023 and closed virtually on 8th March 2024
